Greetings Epochians, Was wondering if you received our latest infrequent, content-rich newsletter? It was sent on the 30th of March 2018. If you're not on the mailing list and want to keep informed on developments, just email me at info@outlandarts.com and type Newsletter in the subject line. In this issue, we once more announced One Day Dig 8: Baby Bupu, plus, a new Creature Society of Excavators members only creature the Saw Arm, and announced the homepage, table of contents for the upcoming TME Expansion Rules (which we will set up a thread for here on the forums very, very shortly) Plus, in this newsletter, and the new Expansion rules page found here www.outlandarts.com/expansionrules.htm I requested fan created mutations, flaws, implants, and relics for consideration for the Expansion Rules. Those contributors (even if your ideas overlaps with another person) gives you credits in the book, the PDF for free, and if any art accompanies the addition, I will send you the original ink or graphite sketch (if converted to digital art). I work small, and 100% the size most art appears in these publications, and so, I can probably afford to send the art in regular mail, even from here in Canada into the USA or UK. Just email your mutation, implant or relic to me at the above-mentioned email. Oh, I should add that the current table of contents for the Expansion Rules is going to be placed here on the forum, but will also appear at the book's permanent webpage at our site... so check it to see what implants and mutations and whatnot has already been created. Finally, we've set up a sketchbook of 'TME xRulz' concept art, showcasing most of the new player types. I hope you all had a glorious Easter and ridiculous April Fools day (my daughter pranked me pretty good this year) Will

Don't take this the wrong way, but honestly, its about time! I been waiting 4+ years for this one! Looking very good from the info posted so far!
Vat-Brain & self-aware/Digital Entity look very intriguing as do Nano-borgs. Parasitical PCs is rather... disturbing in concept (basically a very low-empathy/sociopathic PC concept, willing to enslave/use another being for its own purposes). I can imagine the anti-slavery fanatics/factions in-game are gonna just LOVE these folks LOL.
Didn't see anything mentioned about the dimensional beings (NPCs/Critters) or any new/revised Mental mutations yet.
Questions: Are you going to include spiderborgs as an official PC-type in the expansion rules?
Have you ever gotten a chance to get the "Slavery in the Mutant Epoch" PDF together? Been winging it on rulings since I first got this game system.

I make mention of the time it took to craft, illustrate and publish the Hub Rules in a recent blog post here: themutantepoch.blogspot.ca/2018/04/working-on-expansion-rules.htmlWon't take near that long to get the Expansion Rules out, but I still have to produce other products and do some freelance illustration gigs to feed the kids and keep the lights on. Still, I am working on this book daily now and very excited to get some solid test play characters scanned and revealed. Also very eager to get Epochian fan-created content in the Expansion Rules. Parasites, like abominations and perhaps even grafters, would make for very dangerous NPC villains... although, a parasite character's relationship to the host body could be less one-sided than it seems, and the attachment and nurturing by a parasite can be the only thing the host body has keeping it alive. Parasites, also called symbionts, are as their name implies, humanoid miscreations of diminutive size and specialized mutations which allow them to live upon a host human's body. A parasite can either be festooned on the hide of the host frame, or partially or entirely subcutaneously embedded. A parasitic humanoid has either evolved from some freakish combination of mutations, or else one of many purpose engineered deviants. New era speculation has it that parasite humans were developed to either pilot small drones, smart bombs, tiny spacecraft, or else, attached to other genetically engineered beings to serve as controllers for much larger battle beasts.

For the parasitic humans, one option might be creatures that they were supposed to live on. So those various dangerous creatures that the group finds, if they can figure out a way to take it alive, the parasite could climb onto that critter, and see if it can control it. The parasite character can bond with the creature, so the parasite can climb off and not be eaten, even as it works to heal the creature's wounds from a different angle.
That to me would be a interesting surprise for the PCs, where a normal 'dumb' creature suddenly starts acting like it has a much higher IQ, so instead of a supergator simply taking a couple members and leaving, it proceeds to pick off the sentries over the next few days, whittling down the party. Or while the party is fighting one threat, the gator suddenly joins in the attack at the worst possible time.
It could also be where creatures act semi-crazily, because the parasite is not present to think for them. They can only act on short-term instinct, because the intelligent part of them is missing.

That's an interesting angle... using the parasites to try and latch onto and control a beast the party encounters. They tend to adhere to either willing hosts, or people given up as dead, in the gallows, or who require the parasite to continue living, but... yes, can also aggressively seize control of a person. Cool stuff.

Very interesting idea. Could prove a REAL nasty surprise for a band to discover that the, oh say, Rubble Troll they thought they were duping into attacking actually ambushes them instead. I am having some very evil ideas forming already... My players are cursing your name as I type this Toddk LOL.

I've used parasitic organisms in my own games, and another local GM has used a powerful psychic he called Spider to puppeteer NPC opponents, or as a way to interact with the PC's without endangering himself. Was a very well written Super Villain mutant, and with the Parasite add-ons we've got some more layers to add to the creation options.
