Bounty Hunter
by mrsandcastle » Thu Aug 18, 2011 3:17 am
Has anyone created any unique bounty hunters, to use as a re-occurring villain of sorts? I looked over the site and the rule book and I just found basic information about them, but with so many castes having a chance to have a bounty placed on them for deserting I would think that bounty hunters would be fairly common in the wastes. I also think it would be pretty cool to have a recognizable bounty hunter following a party always one step behind, but sometimes making contact. It would just add to the danger and suspense of life in the wastes. Anyway, just seeing if anyone else had created one that they would be willing to share.

I worked up this "guy" shortly after I picked up TME rules. He might work for your purposes.
I'd probably change a few things about him now that I know the rules better but it was a fun conversion.

He looks cool! Thanks Brutorz Bill.
I actually went ahead and rolled up a ambidextrous gunslinger with two auto pistols. He was part cyborg with an optical implant and a ballistic under-sheath. I gave him a dirt bike so he could make a getaway went the going got rough. The plan was for him to see the PC's in Pitford and then lead an attack on them on their way to Walsave. After he got ~30% endurance I was going to have him hop back on his dirt bike and make a get away. He would then show up at other times during the PC's adventures.
I thought it was a good plan but as can often be the case the players did something that I hadn't thought of. The fight started well, my bounty hunter did his job and got a crit off and some other good hits and really hurt the party, giving him that feeling of not someone to mess around with. The party did manage to drop his health and he got back on his bike and began to drive off. Unfortunately for him one of the PC's was close enough to grab on to him and he did a grapple check to see if he could grab the bounty hunter and pull him off the bike before he drove away. The check succeeded and the bounty hunter landed on his butt and soon had 5 angry PC's bearing down on him. He was finished off with a called shot to the head.
It was a really cool battle and we all had a lot of fun. It accomplished what I was hoping for, only now I can't have him show up again. But I think I can just have a different bounty hunter like Trap Jaw show up.
