I see the Mecha faction mentioned frequently in most of the books, but I can't find any detailed info on them except that they are the robot faction. Is there detailed info on them in a book that I just missed?

The only thing I can find is a half page bit in the Crossroads Region book.(page 9) Not much out there- or I couldn't find it. Maybe in a future expansion? They have plenty of goodies planned for the future. Im waiting for Plant mutant characters myself! But a robot player would be neat.

Welcome to the forums, yynderjohn! Yeah, there have definitely been teasers and snippets here and there about the Mech faction. If the plan is Bestiary, then Character Repository, let's hope it's soon after those. We know it's probably north of the Crossroads map, past ruins and radiation. But don't let that stop you from adding something to your game! For my game.. I'm thinking what we call the Mecha faction is actually many opposing forces all vying for dominance. Conflicting AI's are waging secret wars of Denial of Service Hacking and Firewall defenses. This civil war prevents them from unifying and overrunning peoples to the south. The area is toxic/irradiated and so organics can't easily attack north en masse. This somewhat insulates the Mecha from armies of the Crossroads region. Something is providing creatures from the books with all those random implants, right? How about borgs? (There is a hi-tech human faction to the east.. to be detailed later.) There's good info from the rules that cyborgs aren't trusted in many settlements because they might be spies for Mecha. Is someone capturing people and forcing them to be soldiers, spies, etc. Maybe one Mecha faction doesn't have great manufactories to produce war bots but does have enough to chrome a few PSH slaves and install controller chips (mentioned in the Crossroads book, I believe). Maybe the controller chips are organic and the subject's body eventually over runs the chip. Mecha only has so long to control a borg or can only control them up to a certain range.. Maybe a "caretaker", Mother AI's job was to patch up wounded soldiers (M*A*S*H)and send them back to the front. Is Mother now corrupted/crazy? Sorry about the rant. The game gives us seeds of ideas and I really can't control where my mind goes.
