Last night's game..
Wasting of Walsave:
Walsave's recent excavations beneath the town have been a financial boon.
For their service, the PC’s were granted an underused broccoli-tree farm and have made it a haven for freed slaves. The group has also bolstered the towns’ walls, built more watch towers, a windmill, donated armor and even long range weapons to the town militia.
Best of all, no one has seen a moaner in many moons. The future was looking bright for this once sleepy little farming town.
Although the rubble zombie attacks have stopped, there is a new menace that threatens the townsfolk. Giant blue aphids have also found this rural community inviting. Decimating crops, these bugs ignore traditional pesticides. Sprays just seem to make them more aggressive. With no natural predators, the aphids are breeding fast and becoming more than just a nuisance. Blue vested citizens of the town council are considering many options, but they have to act fast. Farmers have already stopped selling food to Overpass and local villages. Benwad knows that they can trade their newly found relic items for food, but that would draw more attention to this private community. Items traded to Overpass have gone through intermediaries and their origins kept secret. The council wants to grow Walsave slowly and not become another Pitford or Overpass. Although their defenses are growing, they couldn't repel a large force of raiders.
One solution has been to chorale the most affected farms and introduce predators. Giant scorpions and some hostile avian species have been observed eating the aphids on the edge of town. Land owners tried encouraging the scorpions to stay. This solution has created new problems. Harvest is slowed even more trying to reign in these dangerous critters. Some farmers have even suggested burning crops to the ground to combat the blight. They rarely suggest their own fields however and tensions are building with more arguments and even fist fights among once friendly neighbors.
New treasures recovered beneath the town give hope. Town diggers found a Crispy Nubbins franchise in the mall’s food court. In the back office they unearthed a human skeleton still clutching her worn attaché case. After prying a rusted lock, the council found sales brochures and even vi-vi-video disks of an automated agricultural farm. According to the brochures, it used “the latest automated technology to ensure continued production and uninterrupted supply to their customers”. Another declares "Guest of Alice Navarin, Sales Representative; La Prix Industries, Day Pass" on green punch-out card stock. The council believes there might be relic items that could help the town’s current problem. Based on plastic flyers from a long dead sales representative, Benwad thinks the facility is deep in the Twisted Woods.
