General Cornwallace comes from a long line of Australian military officers dating back before the great wars. The Cornwallaces have always been two things, great military leaders and cattle barons. General Cornwallace is second in command only to Burgess Ballantine "The hand of God". He is a very ambitious man, who hopes to one day conquer the great steppe and use its lands to breed huge herds of cattle to feed the mighty armies of the purist empire. General Cornwallace is in charge of the southern defense battalion and comes into direct conflict with the southern freehold regularly. His hatred for the people of steelhill is legendary and wally hopes one day to see it razed to the ground and the lands surrounding it salted so nothing ever grows again. He is an avid golfer and will pay handsomely for relic golf clubs, those among the southern defense force ranks are always on the look out for golf clubs whenever on missions. It is said that General Cornwallaces Special Recon Force known as wally's wasps are the Purist Empire equivalent of Green Berets. So effective are the wasps that their are only a handful of famous excavator teams that could handle an encounter with them and live to tell the tale. Wally's wasps patrol and secure lands in the great steppe and General Cornwallace takes great pride in their efforts. They number only about 100 strong but they are one of the most seasoned military forces within the Purist empire or the crossroads region for that matter. General Cornwallace wishes to replace Burgess Ballantine and openly mocks him whenever possible. Their rivalry is epic in scale and well known throughout the region. It is said that they cannot even remain in the same room together for more then one hour without coming to blows. This being said, General Cornwallace is the very picture of the consummate professional soldier and always follows orders from his superior officers even if he disagrees, which is very often ideed.
