The mecha have been mentioned quiet a bit but not fully yet , can we expect a suppliment based on the mecha? I for one am very intrigued to learn everything about them. There history, numbers, bases, etc., it will be amazing to learn more about what happened with them and the androids. Why are they at war with eachother, how did it start, these are the questions i need to know. Also it has been mentioned that there could possibly be pre-war enclaves out there with there own bases and modus operandi. "Could be" to me means that i can make one and use them against my players but it also means that WM may already have some ideas for said groups like this. If so will we see any suppliments on underground pre-war enclaves? WM meention in one of his posts that if he did this he would more then likely make them similar to the city of ember. Which is a cool idea btw i must say! But what about the freezies in beyond red crater and there facility? is it not possible that there could be advanced pre-war enclaves with powerful pre-war tech facilities that are set to wake up soon? this would be an amazing module for begining players and a great add-on for experienced players.

I'm positive the Shattered region to the east will be at least one extra book. There's the Purist Empire, not holy rollers and witch burners like in the Crossroads, but still believe PSH should retake the planet. Mutant can't be citizens but can help fight. Sounds like they never fell. To survive war, chemical, biological and nuclear devastation, I'd guess they used bunkers of some kind. Presumably losing against the Mecha "centuries" before, they are responsible for the "huge number of clones, bioreplicants, transhumans/cyborgs" (they rebuilt Geshrod as a borg). This requires far better tech than anything we've seen. Since some borgs actually have nuclear reactors, the tech must be inspiring. It's hinted that they were responsible for most of the "mutations" in the game. Maybe the human-animal chimeras didn't perform as well as they hoped. My guess is they had to hunker down in their bunkers while automated programs kept running making/releasing most of the chimera deviants in the game. Or they made them just to fight Mecha until they could build up PSH numbers after the war. There are likely many "vaults" with broken water chips, etc. that would be a great addition to the game. I like how the suits of shell class armor are stated in the main rules but we've only seen one NPC in all the books own one. I'll bet these guys have whole squads. "The.. robot/android faction called Mech Sector Cal-64.. was a Southern California robotic/android/military/manufacturing hub.. turned on their human commanders.. gaining.. territory.. power generation..and.. security.." It doesn't say why they stopped expanding. Maybe they are fighting a "War Games" style scenario. They can't kill 100% of the enemy or the game stops. Can't wait to see the battle droids in that area, but I'm not going to wait. Maybe they're protecting a spaceport with sleepers.. It's known that they can control cyborgs (and replicants- Mr. Metago NPC) with brain implants. No wonder people don't trust borgs! I would never hold back gaming and making up details about these regions. For me, nothing is cannon. It's my game.

LOL I hear you and I couldn't agree more Prov13. Still a book solely devoted to the mecha would be really awesome. There is so much that could be written about them. if you piece together all the info already written about them in the books there is quiet a bit already, id like to see it all in one place so I don't have to piece it together. I like the war games program idea, however in on of the books I remember it saying that there are massive AI computer hubs that are tainted with the mecha virus and operate/control most robots and or androids in an area. I would have to assume that these computers have a range limitation on there control of anything robotic or every robot in the world would be mecha. if this is the case then the mecha are limited to certain areas of the world unless the computer hub goes mobile or a robot with the virus encounters a clean computer hub in a new area and infects it with the virus. food for thought. which leads me to wonder what is the range limitation? mecha robots are on the random encounter charts in the hub rules but from what ive read in the crossroads region book there is no mecha super computer in this region capable of controlling them unless a GM decides to put one in as a secret location , perhaps in a ruin? that the party can explore? its all very mysterious like the mecha in the matrix movies. I hunger to learn as much as I can about them.

There could be different versions of The Mecha Virus, too. The books hint that AI's go a bit crazy with nothing to do. In Logan's Run, Box is part of the food processing machinery for the dome cities. "Fish, plankton, sea greens; protein from the sea. It's all here.. Fresh as harvest day. Fish and sea greens, plankton; protein from the sea. And then it stopped coming. And they came instead. So I store them here. I'm ready. And you're ready. It's my job. To freeze you. Protein, plankton.." With nothing to do he went a bit loopy. Another protein source arrived and he reverted to his original programming. I always wondered if he was artistic before the collapse; he was proud of his ice sculptures. Or did he become artistic after he went crazy.. An AI that is in charge of rebuilding troops as borgs (PA version of MASH), could get confused after 150 yrs and begin adding military grade implants/weapons to deviant animals. Some body is borging up all those critters in the book.. I'm reminded of the old Gallus Gallus research and processing facility from GW. That was a crappy module to GM (needed a lot of fleshing out) but a great idea for an adventure. Once the chickens were uplifted, some started working security. For TME, maybe the substantial animal medical knowledge could be applied to cybernetic chickens! What if HAL-9000 returned to Earth instead of completing the mission? He could have been fixated on keeping the crew frozen and then trying to do the same after coming home. Sure, this assumes he had access to robots that would be his arms but in TME, there are bots aplenty. Everyone must sleep. Then they are safe. You could have a Mecha faction that only stuns. Might be a fun adventure for a low Rank party. Replace wampas with friendly police robots and you have a game!
