Name: Heavy Duty Urban Patrol Unit Defense Value: -50 Endurance: 200 Movement: 10m Initiative: +1 Attacks: chain guns, rockets, mortars; all weapons may fire at same target. Strike Value: 1-85/1-70/1-40 Damage: d20x10/6d10 x1-3/2d20+20x5 Strength: 150 Agility: 20 Accuracy: 55 Intelligence: 35 Willpower: 40 Perception: 45 Experience Factors: 130 Morale: na Size: 3m Weight: 1,000kg Power Supply: Initially powered by a 3 month fuel cell, units refitted can last 5 yrs with power packs. Excavators have unearthed a cache of mothballed robots formally used in corporate controlled police states. These robots were old when locked away but techs have been able rebuild them with scavenged materials. Their neural net was based on an uplifted dog and the units show playful, if rough housing qualities when not in combat mode. They can herd targets, display pack tactics and are protective of their territory.
An egg shaped body is supported on heavy ostrich-like legs. They bear two weapon pods for arms and have an impressive sensor suite (IR/radio/telescopic, IFF) able to detect ground/air targets 200m/500m away. The intelligence has limited communication by 90dcb speakers. Corporate security officers could access the loudspeaker by radio, projecting their own voice to address crowds. HDUPU's can also monitor radio broadcasts allowing it to eaves drop on conversations and act accordingly; Int HC to anticipate enemy's actions. These units were discontinued for excessive aggressiveness in urban areas. Once a target is acquired, they must make a C Will HC to stop attacking, even if ordered to do so. Top-heavy, the robots can be knocked over and have trouble negotiating stairs; B Agi HC or roll-over. It takes 3 rounds to right itself.
Right Weapon Pod: 1 20mm machine gun and pop-up missile launcher. 3 heat-seeking missiles are stowed when not in use. (double damage exploding arrows/guided missiles per TME pg 196., 5m blast rad)
Left Weapon Pod: 2 20mm machine guns (treat as chain guns with 500 rnds/gun.)
Back Mounted Mortar Launcher: 5 HE (treat as Advanced Frag Grenades, TME pg 195.) 5 Gas Rounds (normally 2 smoke and 3 tear gas per TME pg 195)
Armor: Titanium alloy armor grants an extra -15DV vs small arms fire. The unit has a thin flame retardant, teflon coating; 1/2 damage for the first 20 pts from fire and acid.

Sweet new robot bro! How much do they cost to buy or sell? That's a good question. I guess that's up to the GM. I'll have to get back to you on what they cost in my game. The players might encounter it this weekend.

Awesome bot man! It could destroy my entire team in a couple rounds! Are your PCs able to face it ( and possibly survive)? Have you used it yet?

TME, has an "ancient mecha directive" which can take over machines turning them hostile. I thought it would be fun to expand this into a mutating computer virus. Different versions of the infection can be encountered. Some are more hostile than others.
Mecha Virus: No one has yet determined when this virus was released or from what mad programmer. It's known to affect robots, computers, vehicles, buildings, anything with a computer that can be programmed. The virus can manifest in different ways and even change from one host to another. There are many strains of this program, but a few are more commonly encountered.
Sleeper: This version of Mecha Virus may not spread to other machines. Sleepers wait for a date, set of conditions or code that may never be sent. Robots might not be aware of infection. There is anecdotal evidence of androids believing they were PSH.
Terminator: This version of virus destroys specific individuals, gene types or groups. Terminators can act as sleepers until they acquire their target and won't hesitate to kill other getting in the way. Self-sufficient, they usually work alone or with other terminator units. The terminator virus is an intelligent killing machine and superb tracker.
Mother/Father: Altered strains of the virus may adopt other machines without spreading the infection. This version of virus realizes that every experiment needs a control group. These parental programs have been known to adopt organic beings, keeping them safe for study. The Mother virus can insulate itself with other machines that are not infected to provide better cover. One strain of this virus, "Cleaver" actually attacked machines with other viral strains to keep its PSH "children safe".
Vampiric: This version usually seeks to infect as many systems as it can. It's capable of reprogramming even non-combative units into brutal killing machines. It can over-ride normal safety protocols in its host and can enscript normally non-combative bots. Vampires can infect any open computer system it can access. Wireless, IR, maser, laser even radio can spread the virus. By infecting an intelligent building's systems, elevators can become death traps, appliances can burst into flame whenever people are near, etc. Vampire shares Terminator characteristics but its main goal is to propagate and survive. This version might keep a pilot alive until the host vehicle can reach a larger population center. This version of virus can enslave organics for repairs and maintenance, withholding food or environmental life support.
Weaker Strains: Other versions of virus exist and even weaker strains of known types. Organic viri mutate and change in response to their environment. The same occurs with the Mecha Virus. Medbots might appear totally normal until a patient refuses treatment. Extensive reconstruction surgery for acne or a spine replacement to fix a limp have been reported. One particular Medbot had been in service for 2 years before a new arrival refused treatment for ingrown hairs. It skinned him alive and slaughtered 1/4 of the populace before being destroyed. There were no remains to study further.
Game Stats: The Mecha Virus can over-write a robot's existing programs to better serve the controlling directive. As an example, infected medbots usually have D4+2 skill points in medic. The Virus could access the bots extensive medical database to write WE skill programs using installed medical equipment. Having WE Bonesaw, Laser Scalpel and Brawling would all benefit from its normal +10 ACC. I recommend using the Raink Gain Bonus Table-Bioreplica for additional programming; 1D4 rolls for most strains. Stronger strains of the virus could provide additional rolls. Most of the bonuses to skills can be explained by altered programming. Either it wrote the skill on the fly or carried it from another host. The more programs it brings, the longer it needs to infect a system. An increase in Traits can be from the virus over riding its own safety protocols, possibly shorting out its own motors and systems. For my games, I'm treating all infected robot systems as "berserk". The get 2x the normal melee attacks. Some versions can combined melee and ranged as if they had a split mind. The combot in the Art store of MOD can use its spike AND fire an assault rifle at full ROF...
"Self-aware robots must make a WILL HC or endure 3D6 hrs of internal struggle.." I'll have to dig up where that quote is from..
