Good job! Your work on Space Marines has me thinking. I'm trying to stat the dropship, ala Colonial Marines Aliens from the Technical Manual. www.amazon.com/Aliens-Colonial-Marines-Technical-Manual/dp/1781161313It's seriously overpowered. 66 various missiles and a 25mm gatling gun! Even the LIDAR (1-10KW and it has 2) would be a TME Laser Pistol.. Forget about the chaff and flare dispensers for a second (-20DV vs IR guided missiles..? That's only 1/2 as good as the Smoke Screen Generator Implant). Where it excels is the sensor jamming suite. Might need some new rules for this. Maybe -20DV vs guided missiles. Even then there is a decoy on a 50m antenna that can be deployed in ~1sec. Like a model on a string that has the same RADAR silhouette as the dropship. Most lower tech rockets will probably just hit the decoy; it was designed for this. I'm thinking.. even if you do get a lock and make your strike roll, the missile uses its modified strike roll as Trait and has to make a C HC. If successful, it has to roll to Strike again. Yeah, you could just modify the DV or SV but I try to keep in mind that a lot of factors go into those 2. Speed, maneuverability, conditions, armor, etc. This is a little different in my mind. More of a Trait contest; Intelligence of the missile vs Intelligence of defender's computer. Even high tech missiles, with home-on-jam targeting might hit the decoy (A or B HC). In my games, there won't be many of these targeting systems around. Maybe other space forces have the tech. The problem is that if the ship takes even negligible damage, it won't be able to go fast enough to make/break orbit. At Mach 12 the air is plasma and even a little hole would tear the ship apart. If you give the party the One Ring, most powerful relic in the land, they're going to use it. Better have an NPC ready to leap out of the shadows and bite off their finger, if needed.

I couldnt agree more. Strong NPC's are needed to keep the game balanced. I love the idea of having the missile vs the defender HC battle for the hit. This is genius bro! It makes total sense that this would accure due to the advanced tracking systems and onboard computers. Thanks by the way for brining to my attention the space marines technical manual! I didnt even know that it was out there. I'm sure theres a lot of good ideas in there that could be used in Mutant Epoch's space based adventures. Cant wait to see what you come up with and post.

MOON COLONY (INDEPENDENCE)
Indepenence is the oldest ancient pure-stock colony in the solar system. It has a population of nearly 1500 people and the largest contingent of space marines out of the four colonies. This force consists of 180 space marine drop troops and 20 officers. Every officer commands a unit of nine marine personnel. Independence is the command center of the old world remnant civilization that still occupy this region of space. This colony is almost completely built underground. The inderground colony is set up much the same as the space stations only on a much larger scale with additonal levels for housing and agroculture. Large areas of the moons surface have been turned into quarrys to extract all usable materials that can be pulled from the surface, along with vast mining operations under the surface extending outward from the colony like an ants nest. Independence has approximatly 25 major factory facilities that produce everything that the colony needs and also produces replacement parts for the other remnant colonies. Two of these factories are weapons producers, that make all of the munitions and firearms for the remnant space marines. Idependence is a quiet peacful place to live and this is one of the main reasons that when given the chocie to leave earths solar system for good during the mass human exodus many decided to stay behind and sign up for the strip mining operations.

MARS COLONY (SENTINAL)
Sentinal started as a forward deployed military compound then later became the largest civilian colony in the solar system. Sentinal has the second largest detachment of remnant space marines in the solar system with a contingent of 80 space marine drop troops and 20 officers. Sentinal is a huge agrocultural prodution world. Mass quantities of Ebible plant matter is produced here and shipped to the other remnant colonies as well as frozen and shipped to the deep space colonies bi-annually. Sentinal has the only advanced intersteller communicator array in the solar system making intersteller communication with the deep space colonies possible. So it is no surprise that it also has the largest military and civilian robotics factory in the solar system. At any given time on sentinal there is nearly 25,000 light combots, 10,000 heavy combots, and 5,000 of every other type of robot and android known to man. This arsenal of robotic combatants are housed in a massive secret military base built into the side of lympus monds. When the exodus happened an elite skeleton crew of battle hardend space marines was left behind to guard this cache of robots in cyro-sleep should the colonies every come under attack. Mars is nearly terraformed, with only 200-300 years to go until terraforming is complete, sentinal has become the tourist and vacation hotspot of the remnant colonies. it is as close to earth as it gets and houses the largest fleet of space craft, personal and commercial, in the solar system.

EUROPA COLONY (MIZU SEKAI)
Mizu Sekai translated from japanese means water world. This colony Is the most scientifically advanced colony amongst the remnant colonies. Massive submersible colony ships navigate the oceans of europa collecting scientific data from the planets alien plant life a aquatic organisims. Large stocks of earth based fish where introduced to the ecosystem and are harvested every twenty years. Huge quantities of food are produced in this way and the remnant colonies only use a small percentage of it. the rest is frozen and sent to the deep space colonies. The science of gravity and interdemensional travel thru worm holes has been being research here for the last two hundred years. On Europa there have been many brake throughs in medical research as well. Within the last 10yrs. scientists on europa have create stable worm holes using the planets own gravity coupled with the intense grvitational distortions that accure when in close proximity to jupiter. When Europa comes within range of the large gas planet the gravity of Jupiter pulls on Europa and the planets own gravity field becomes warped. Scientists devised a way to use this natural phenominon to briefly open temporary one way worm holes from our solar system to the deep space colonies. They use these worm holes to transport food and people to the deep space colonies. Pilots from Europa are considered the best pilots know to mankind. Due to living under the water there entire life in the dark operating submersible crafts very similar to space craft they are natural pilots. A fleet of science ships, colony ships and harvest ships make Europa there home and continue in the traditions of there fore fathers. There is however one surface base on europa that the colony ships dock with from time to time to pick up supplies, transfer personnel to other remnant colonies and to ensure supplies that have been worm holed across the galaxy have reach there destination. The people of Europa colony and decended from japanese pure-stock humans from before the fall of man.

I take that as a compliment providence13. I just really like coming up with stuff like this. Plus there are no examples of space adventures for mutant epoch, so im doing everyone a favor by making this stuff up. Im really just fleshing it out for my campaign. Besides im a logistics specialist in the navy ive got nothing but time during the day in the warehouse to come up with this stuff why not share it.

TITAN COLONY (ATLAS)
Atlas is the newest and smallest remnant coloy. Its populace numbering only a mere 200-300. The space marine presence here is weak and the work is hard and dangerous, this culminates into a sess pit of corruption, crime, and illicit drugs. Atlas is often times refered to as fringe city. The production of ammonia phosphate and liquid hydrogen is an important buisness to the space faring remnant humans and deep space colonies, so periodically the Asagi oni governor of remnant space "cleans out the fringe". This only happens when the crimnal element of atlas becomes uncooperative or so corrupt that they try to renig on there duty to produce the valuable compounds and gases for the rest of the remnant and deep space colonies. There is however a detachment of space marines on this colony world that takes in the bottom of the barrel marines, the dirt bags and joe schmukatelli's that no other outfit in the remnant corps. wants. They are some of the toughest, most cutthroat soldiers in remnant space and it is rumored that they can be bought at an extremely high price. Currently they only number about 50 marine drop troops and 5 officers. Fringe is not a place that normal civilians want to visit or work so as a result a lot of the people living and working on fringe have been pressed into slavery and service by the remnant space marine corps out of neccesity. When this colony was first built there where rumors of a crashed alien vessel being sighted on the surface of the great ammonia sea, it is said that it floated away to the south and probably sank beneath the surface. Having no vessels that could travel submerged in the ammonia these rumors have remained unsubstatiated for one hundred years.

REMNANT SPACE FLEET
The remnant spce fleet is very small and there are only 5 factories on Moon base Independence that can produce new crafts and replacement parts. The economy of the remnant space society is low, and the governor of the remnant people is tasked with the aquisition of wealth and materials for the deep space colonies not the remnant people. This being said most of the remnant people are of average wealth and able to provide everything they need for there families. All except space faring craft that is. Space craft are extremely expensive to produce and only the most wealthy remnant citizens are able to afford them. There is a skeleton fleet of remnant star fighter craft and troop transportation craft in use by the remnant space marine corps. lead from a command ship of medium cruiser class named the TRINITY. Most space craft in remnant space are transport vessels moving cargo, food, and people. There are three kinds of personal space craft available Osprey class shuttles, Orbital class shuttles, and Ouroboros class Intersteller Freighter, all of which can be produced at extremely high costs at moon colony Iendependence.

TRINITY
The flagship of the remnant colony fleet known as the trinity is a medium class star cruiser. The trinity is hundreds of years old but has been well maintained and seen little action since the human exodus. It is equipped with five heavy laser cannons, an array of 8 ballistic nuclear missiles, and can launch 4 starfighter escorts. This vessel has a ships company of 800 when fully manned. 400 personnel are needed to operate this ship at minimum capacity and still have weapons fire capability. Currently the trinity has a crew of 560 personnel of which 120 are remnant marine drop troops and officers. The remaining 440 personnel are all that remains of the old earth interplanetary star command, or ISC for short. The ISC were a specialized militry space force similar to the modern day navy. Almost all of the ISC went with the human exodus but the option was given to those that would stay behind could do so stationed on the trinity. 800 personnel, most of which were the original crew of the trinity stayed behind. The trinity is most famous for its attack on the notorious space pirate base gammalon alpha located on pluto near intersteller space. The gammalon alpha pirates were a scourge to the people of earth before the exodus. The trinity lead by Admiral Gardner tracked the pirates back to pluto after years of interplanetary conflict and bombarded therebase from orbit into nothingness. The trinity now is used as the mobile command base for the joint remnant defense force of space marines and ISC personnel. It routinely visits each of the four colonies on schedule and sometimes docks with space station Orion to get intelligence on old earth threats. The current captain and executive officer of the trinty are captain hart and commander vondrak. Commandant Kessler of the remnant space marine corps is also stationed aboard the trinity. Kessler is the commanding officer of all the rmnant space marine corps and takes his job very seriously.

MONITOR STATION KODIAK
in the frozen wasteland of what has once the state os alaska lays Kodiak station. This station is used as monitoring outpost on the planet earth for the remnant terran focres in the solar system. Its mission is to monitor the radioactivity of the planet and to also maintain an awareness of earth rapidly changing climate after the exodus of mankind. There is a detachment of over one thousand war hardened USMC battle clones in cryo sleep in and underground facility located at Kodiak station. There is also a detachment of united space marine corps drop troops from the moon base independence that secure this base while there reserve troops sleep. Along with these marines stationed at kodiak is a company of remnant scientists and interstellar propulsion experts working on new engine systems and technology to help the colonies. The scientists live at Kodiak year round along with the stations commanding officer Major general Allen Ziegler. The detachment of drop troops numbering from thirty to forty troops rotates every six months with new troops from moon base independence. Kodiak station has the last remaining intact space elevator from before the war due to its extreme remoteness. At the top of the elevator is a small space station docking port the size of large gas station. It is only a means to come and go from the planet for personnel and a limit of four tons of cargo. The elevator ride takes 1 whole day to come and go from the planet. Kodiak station has four osprey transpot ships and two relic light lasr cannon mounted snow tanks. Kodiak station is located very close to a very large underground pocket of petroleum. There are about twenty SIMG petroleum engineers that extract and transport this valuable commodity to guild ships that almost always are waiting in space docked with the kodiak station elevator observatory port.

SPACE STATION TROJAN
Space station trojan is a derelict orbital station that sustained heavy damage during a conflict in the war. Its crew took what they could and fled with their lives to the solar colonies. During the corporate wars of old earth a Chinese company known as chimera corp, responsible for mny of the metahuman animals that riam the world today, began to wage a waron the space colonies and stations in orbit. Chimera corp. Is responsible for the attack on on trojan that lead to its abandonment. Chimera corp has long since been destroyed and the the inhabitants of trojan station dispersed amongst the colonies but the station still remains in orbit becuase of its still functional roboticly assisted nuclear fusion plant. It has become a haven for robots and androids alike that have awakened their AI. Their is no air , no food and no humans and the robotic colony known as the collective, that rules this station, like it that way. The collective has no designs on attacking human kind unless provoked and generally keep to themselves. The remnant terran colonies attempted to take the station back once but failed and have abandoned any hope of reclaiming it.

maybe a good place to ask this question, dose any one know if William McAusland plan on making a source book or maybe a second game set in space? I think it would be a natural evolution for what they have already written. last I heard William McAusland said" I have a friend who is working on a "space opera" game using some or all of the Mutant epoch rules. I also heard there is even a Fantasy setting in the works. . . but I do not know if this is still the going to happen.
