Hi all, Was wondering has there been any designs in TME for races built on the mutations in the Hub rule book. Please bear in mind that the example is a base idea. For Example: Naga (unless you can come up with a better one) They would look like Humans being exposed to snake DNA or genetically altered by some outside force. Physical Description: A hybrid based on snake and human DNA. Reproduction: female lays eggs instead of live birth. 1-4 eggs per birth. Aging: x1.5 - x2 of pure strain humans. Habitat: Swamps, Near bodies of water, Desert Technology: Primitive but adaptive, Can use relic weapons if taught how. Can use armor if modified. Mutations: After x amount of generations the mutations breed true or become stable to get a race of mutant people that have mutations based on snakes . Tho other physical mutations are possible the ones that are racial related are more common. Mental mutations would be unaffected. *The would have 1 or more physical characteristics of snakes. (ie Scaled Skin*, Serpentine Body, ect). The Human half would be represent what normal humans have. (I would think it mostly depends on how much is human and how much is snake.) *Please note that the coloring of the scales would be that of the environment they live in.

Im not quite sure bro! But that is a good question.
I like the way you broke it down as well for the naga race. There are certainly enough mutations in the book relating to snakes to make it work. And you could make up some more pretty easily based on real life snakes unique adaptations.
how about Humans being exposed to dinosaur DNA or genetically altered by some outside force.
Physical Description: A hybrid based on various dinosaur breeds and human DNA. Reproduction: female lays eggs instead of live birth. 1-4 eggs per birth. Aging: x1.5 - x2 of pure strain humans. Habitat: Swamps, Near bodies of water, Desert Technology: Primitive but adaptive, Can use relic weapons if taught how. Can use armor if modified.
the archetype that you have created here could be used for any mixture of animal and human DNA to create a stable off-shoot race. All you would have to do is completely flesh out the stats for the average snkaeman/dinoman so that they would be a fieldable creature or enemy against the PC's.

I was telling players the same thing to explain the reptilius. Uplifted/enhanced animals or human-beast chimera; doesn't matter when it's trying to stick you with a spear. I could easily see a GM giving the players a list of races to play instead of random chargen. Might be fun too.

With the system the way it is there are a lot of possibilities when it comes to character and racial creation. I am toying with the idea of creating 3-4 Unique races myself. With radiation and chemical warfare as back drops for this world it is safe to say that a whole manor of new creatures and races might emerge. Based on the current caste system i am also going to try to create some more available castes. nce i have some of this stuff done ill post it here for everyone to use if they want.

With radiation and chemical warfare as back drops for this world it is safe to say that a whole manor of new creatures and races might emerge. Have you ever read Red Mars, Green Mars, Blue Mars? (Kim Stanley Robinson). Lots of good tidbits about viral modified organisms engineered to adapt at different stages of Martian teraforming. Alastair Reynolds also has wonderful sci-fi (no FTL!) with Hyper-pigs: using pigs for medical experiments and organ donation, eventually someone made them slightly more human to cut down on rejection. Sharkmen of Europa: Someone needed to explore the sea of Jupiter's icy moon. Great cyborg nano/femto tech. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Factions_in_Revelation_SpaceSome different high-tech political factions. Keep 'em coming!
