Gm'ed my first game Sunday
by madwill » Wed May 11, 2011 4:28 am
Currently there are only 3 of us so i had my players make two characters each. With 4 characters i only ran the first level of the crevice. i loved the way the adventure is written! Plenty of flavor text and random creature/loot rolls made for a great time watching the adventure unfold as not even I knew exactly how things were going to go. With possibly more players next weekend the group may explore further down the complex. Also, the hazard chart is a GM's best pal. No matter what crazy scheme my players may come up with all I have to do is assign a difficulty ask for the applicable stat and have them roll, or, roll myself if it's an unknown test.
Will McAusland, keep up the great work.

Hey Madwill,
This sort of feedback is worth its weight in silver to a game designer. I'd love to hear more about the characters in your games. Oh, and keep in mind if there are any casualties, we need to populate the graveyard that is the Dead Pile section of the site TME-SOE-dead-pile.htm

My friends rolled 2 cyborgs ( 1 militia, 1 assassin ), 1 industrial bio-replicant slave, 1 pure stock tech. all in all not a bad mix.

It was great fun. The spider dropping from the ceiling was classic. This Sunday my cyborg gets to find out if the elevator can carry his 400 lbs. Thank you WillMcAusland for a great game!

Looking forward with interest for the next sessions, Madwill
Hope to play 'The Crevice' with some gaming group, the module is really good!

we played our second session tonight. We had two new players who have never roleplayed before. i restocked the first level of the complex with random encounter rolls which resulted in: 1 scavenger (who the players discovered as he tried to sneak past them. once captured he offered to sell info about what he had seen further in the building. so, 10 sp later...), 3 small snakes in some rubble, and, the best part 13 bipedal rats had taken up residence. They gave the players as little bit of trouble as one had a shotgun pistol and the party was divided when some of the rats went to investigate the noise the players were making. One player almost ended up in the "dead pile" as he was only 3 points away from death. Luckily one of the new players had the medic skill.
the second level has been reached, but, the party left to take the wounded cyborg back for help, after much debate. Their employer wasn't too happy, but, news of the relatively untouched lower level has kept his interest. So, it's rest and refit for the third foray into the "crevice". This one adventure is turning into a campaign of its own!

A shotgun toting bipedal rat! Nice. We've discovered that shotguns are about the best room clearing weapons characters can use in underground ruins, but the players don't like it when their enemies have them. The spray pattern of a single blast can damage three man sized targets, and with the shotgun pistol, both barrels can be unleashed at once, easily killing even large, powerful opponents. We had a critical hit once with such a double barrel blast. Big mess.
I'm really looking forward to hearing more once your players investigate the second level.
