The Town of Chapel [Nolinquisitor's Campaign]

Hi there. First poster. I just got my SOE membership and I thought I should share what I'm working on.

The Town of Chapel, Barony of California
Type: Small Scrappers Town/Trading Hub
Faction: The Great Barony of California, also ally with the Chapter Of Investment Network and Security (C.O.I.N.S.)
Leader: Baronnet (elected for 1 year term; currently Baronnet Trimham, on his 3rd terms, current Popularity/Public Trust 73%)
Population: 211 (160+2d100) plus 25 travelers (+2d20 travelers at any given times)
Main Activities: Agriculture (Greenhouse + Windmill), Craft, Fishing, Trades
Notable People
- Tracy Trimham (mild mutant politician/town baronnet)
- Marv The Robot Repair Guy (purestock human robotic technician)
- Mimi Swimfast (mutant animal-white otter excavator, local mascot)
- Vinnie Taxus (mutant animal/badger barber; rumor mill)
- Carla/Carlos (mild mutant prostitute; gender switching, APP 80+)
- Ynana Backbreaker (bioreplica gladiator; recently arrived; have a bounty on her head)
- Wayde Pick'N-Axe (19 years-old ghost mutant; an ex-miner that comes from far away... have a funny accent; he says that his town was destroyed by fire spitting giant ants; he offers his services as a scout/guide for a modest price 10 sp per person per day).

- Mike the Meat Maker; 2nd rank cyborg mercenar, second in command
- Bassnil; 3rd rank beastial human/mutant animal (alligator) logger
- Tonilka the Inverted; 3rd rank mutant (severe) slave (gladiator)
- Chromia; mutant (typical) hunter
- Baju; beastial human (deer) pirate
Notable Locations
1. Mouse Mall: A smaller and secondary center of commerce. It's proximity to the City Hall make it a favorite spot for the political class.
2. Chapel City Hall: The residence and office of the elected Baronnet.
3. The Local Garrison: A company of 78 permanent miliciamen, plus 1d20 part-time soldiers and 1d20 hired mercenaries. They are the local enforcement/authority and they are pretty well respected in Chapel. Sir Ruben Dragonthorn is the head of the milicia, a fair, loyal and sometimes ruthless transhuman with decades of combat experience.
4. Vinnie Taxus' Barber Shop: A friendly badger mutant barber and master groomer own this excellent place. Whether for a haircut, or a hot bath, or the incessant rumor mill, Vinnie welcomes anyone with coins in his pockets. Most client are males but Vinnie will accept anyone who will listen to his endless rants. The majority of the customers does not know that, for a small fee (+25 sp per full hour), the shop also offers a special service in the backstore. For a limited and select clientele a mild mutant prostitute named Carla provides services in complete discretion. Even less people knows that she can switch gender at a moment's notice.
5. Mimi Swimfast's House: Chapel's mascot, the iconic female white otter mutant live there outside the protection of the palisade. Couting on her instinct, at the first sight of troubles she can jump directly into the river (a well known perilous routine of hers).
6. The Centerway Mall: The economic heart of Chapel where 80% of the local trade is made. In ancient times this was the parking lot of a small rural mall. Today this large field of cracked asphalt host a dozen of large tents where. Some buildings are still standing and the most powerful merchants occupies them.
7. The Greenhouse: A working greenhouse that produce a barely sufficient amount of food. 80% of production are exported or sold to merchants. This is the bread and butter of Chapel. Its hydroponics tomatoes and carrots are quite delicious.
8. The Excavators Guildhouse: This house was reserved for excavators passing by. The last band never came back so it's empty for the moment. Baronnet Timham will give the keys to the house to any worthy group of excavators (in a subtle attempt to make them stay in Chapel).
9. The Old Lady Chapel: Some old folk have call it a church, other a chapel. Nevetheless, this is where it all started. A handful of travellers, a horde of monsters behind their feet, entered this place to make their last stand. The Old Lady came and chassed them away, then disappeared out of thin air. The old folks decided to make a stand in this crazy land and they decided to stay. The town of Chapel was rebuilt by these survivors that few people know about today.
10. Jack Twistlock Knife Shop: A master knifecrafter and sharpener. He sells and buy good quality knives and blades of all kind. He have a little metal shop in the backstore. (Blacksmith/Bladecraft 6 pts.)
11. The Windmill: A working windmill builded by the Union of Builders. It produces flour and some electricity.
12. Old Al's Alambic: Old Al's still ramble about the old days and how everything was better and how he never knew how to reproduce that delicious brandy, made by accident by his brother. That batch was so good it made him partially blind for three days. That was the sweet stuff! Oh, and Old Al makes all sort of alcohol, when sober, with his unique giant contraption.
13. C.O.I.N.S. Bureau of Commerce: The local office of the Chapter Of Investment Network and Security is always buzzing with activities and high energy. Deals a made (and broken) here under the ruling of C.O.I.N.S. Regulators. Overseeing the Centerway Mall across the street, some would say that the Bureau have conflict of interest.
14. The Incinerator: An ancient tower of faded bricks and rusted steel, spouting a thick black smoke west. The incinerator is ancient building that still operate its basic function, burn everything you put into it. The town peoples use it for garbage disposal and heat.

20. Best's Gun Shop: A bioreplica named Best own and operate this fine weapons shop specialized in firearms and ammo making. Not many people know that Best's name is spelled B.E.S.T., an acronym that will refused to explain.
21. Fish-Face's Fishing Camp: This savage and freakish mutant with a fish head appeared one day and took refuge in this old house by the lake. The folks of Chapel was about to kill this monster just because he's ugly looking, but Fish-Face gave a starving family a large quantity of fresh fish. The milicia then stopped the mob and the Baronnet declared him « ok to be around ». So as long as Fish-Face doesn't enter Chapel the folks should leave him in peace. Three Arms Willie is angry at him. He says that the fish face mutant often steal his fish.
22. Madam Cho's Chow-ful Shack: Feast on the most succulent and freshest food ever scavenged! Rumors about the occasional disappearances of visiting patrons remain completely unproven; Madam Cho's expanding girth and recent incubations are purely coincidental.
23. General XP-929: A crashed and worn-out tactical AI assault drone from an ancient war, it has no weapons left and cannot fly or move because of damaged and missing parts, but its robot brain has remained almost miraculously intact and active throughout the decades. "General" XP-929 now serves as a tactical and defense advisor for the community and likes to challenge passersby to a game of chess, promising to offer "classified military data" to whoever is able to defeat him, which has of course never happened... yet.

25. Trixxy π (Pi)'s Computer Shop: A very smart transhuman technician, Trixxy π (Pi) own and run this little computer shop near the town garrison. She often talk alone in her shop and seems blasée most of the time. Unknown to most, she talks to several sapient programs she salvaged and created herself over time.
26. The Relics Hounds Headquarters: A local group of excavators (*our PC's).
The Scrap Palisade: A twelve foot wall made out of scrap metal, destroyed vehicles and rocks, surround the town and protect it from unwanted visitors. It was built by the Union of Builders several years ago. Far from being the perfect protection against siege or flying threats, the wall have protected the inhabitants so far and stood against the greatest wind. Mayor Trimham promises that if re-elected he will enlarge the wall as a part of a plan he call "economic expansion". If only the town folks knew what is was talking about...
