Note: Experience Factors gained through relics/treasure is equal to 2% of the market value in silver pieces.
(I felt the rank advancement was overly lenient for my tastes as an encounter with a couple groups of skullocks or moaners and any found loot would rank up a party of 8 excavators overly quickly, but as always, your mileage may vary)

I like this slower advancement. My players are already 3rd Rank after only a few games and I don't give EF for treasure (wealth is it's own reward- or punishment). That's a bit fast for me, but we'll keep going as is to give the RAW (Rules As Written) a proper test drive. They do receive small awards (20 EF or so) for good ideas, well executed plans, etc.
If the whole party is wiped out or we start another game in the future, I'll try this new EF Rank chart.
The following is just my take on the concepts. My post is based on bad physics further gunked up with years of sci-fi gaming, books, movies and even radio(!), written more for drama than a firm grasp of reality.
