Ok We have the Power Cell (pill, mini, etc...) & we have the bulky Power Pack. How about a mid-range Power Belt?
Power Belt: 4x to 5x normal power cell charges, belt with several storage cells spaced evenly around it? Still uses power cable to connect to whatever you want to power with it.
It seems quite logical that workmen or the like would have needed larger power supplies for tools, sensors, scanners, etc.. but not needed or wanted the bulk of the Power Pack.

A fun idea might be those power units were so useful, everybody kept using them and wearing them out. Unless there is a place making new ones, PCs and NPCs have to make do with the small and large batteries, no happy medium size

But following that line of reasoning, they would have been produced at a much higher volume due to demand, thus more should be found in storage sites, military storage dumps, store ruins, ruined underground malls, & survival caches.

what about they were made in high demand but because of the flex needed in an actual belt the moving parts wore out so you can find them but they arent usually in working order

I like this idea a lot. I'm going to use this power belt but make it a daisy chain of smaller power cells with the bonus on an original D-sized unit being more efficient.
Thanks for the idea!

Ok I worked up the stats for my version of the Power Belt. It is possible to build one using power cells & materials but builder must have Electronics Tech 5 to do so. Stats for the home-made version appear after the original, Ancients-created version.
Power Belt Weight: 4kg Capacity/EU: 50 EU DV: -2 Blast Radius: 6m SV/DAM: 01-65/2d12 Recharge Fee: d100+200sp Holds 5x the power of a Power Cell. Worn around waist. It is somewhat bulky & inflicts a -0.25m MV penalty when worn.
Home-Made Power Belt Weight: 6kg Capacity/EU: 40 EU DV: 0 Blast Radius: 5m SV/DAM: 01-50/5d10 Recharge Fee: d100+200sp Materials Req. to Build: 5 Power Cells, custom-made leather belt (with attached suspenders to help distribute the weight), wire, power patch cord, & an Electronics Toolkit or workshop. 4 successful Electronics Tech Skill checks required (Type B).
Time to Build: 4 days (need not be continuous, although GM is suggested to increase the HC type one step for each week between work days since even safely stored materials get exposed to moisture, dust, literal "bugs" in the electronics, etc.. X-factors suck!).
NOTE: A critical failure on any check ruins the entire assembly & ruins one or more of the power cells involved beyond repair. 1 Cell ruined with 65% of a second one ruined, if a second one is ruined, 45% that a third is ruined, if third is ruined, 25% of a four being ruined, & if a four one is ruined, 10% of the fifth cell being ruined (Potentially a VERY expensive failure). If more then one power cell is ruined due to a Critical failure there is a flat 15% per cell ruined of an explosion (for 5d10 DAM, destroying all materials & possibly tools/gear in the blast radius).
Holds 4x the power of a Power Cell. Worn around waist. It is bulky & inflicts a -0.5m MV penalty when worn. Home-made power belts are obviously less effective then simply carrying 5 charged power cells but of course they do provide continuous power without "reload" interruptions, a potential life-saver in a serious fight.
