toddk, the only problem with your method of entry is that it also advertises to every criminal, raider group, etc... "Hey look! newbs in town with stuff worth stealing!". Personally any group who walks into a new town armed to the teeth with all the relic gear they can sport is just asking for "drug/poison/murder/steal" scenario. Remember, the diggers may be bad-asses but the right drug or poison in a drink/food & suddenly they are just so much helpless meat. Prostitutes ain't gonna service a John/Jane in full body armor. Gotta undress to play & that makes you vulnerable to armed attacks or the self-same drugged drinks. Induced Coma is a bitch to block & some punk street kid could just have the mutation. Advertising you are a ripe target is NOT the way to live a long healthy life in the Mutant Epoch. Risk vs. Reward is the criminals way of life, looking too relic-heavy is a quick way to go from "too dangerous" to "risky but highly profitable". Smart crooks will find ways to bypass your oh-so awesome armor & weapons. A strong reputation & multiple survivals of the nightmares of TME world goes a long way in preventing that shift from "not worth it" to "well, maybe if we....".

Hi all,
There are also going to be Vat Brains as a character type! No art on them yet.
Really appreciate the discussions going on here at the forum. They motivate me more than I can say, especially in these days of very real world concerns. I would be lying if I didn't tell you that the Paris attacks really got under my skin. I've been to Paris twice and love the place and the people. Shaking off the malaise but not the anger. Gonna keep the anger me thinks. On a more cheerful note, the Creatures for the Apocalypse Codex is really coming along great.
Just finished the back cover art late, late last night. These new creatures are gonna be great fun to throw at the players. I'm itching to show you but want to keep it all under wraps until release date, then will reveal the new art. Just got some color proofs back from our printer in South Carolina and I am pleased with the results. The COTA Codex will be available in color print and grayscale as well as PDF. Aiming for December 1st still and that release date looks feasible! Okay, time to draw the cover art! Standby by for pencils some time in the next few days both here and on twitter.
Kindest regards from Cimmeria, Will

thorneldrich, you are right that showing off relic weapons will be a potential invitation to thieves.
However, from the readings of various descriptions in the books, being well-armed is often a good way to avoid being attacked, let alone surviving being attacked.
By also demonstrating the sheer wealth by hiring all the hookers, laborers, teaching them to dance, etc, it shows that you have plenty of money, and the town nobles will also tread carefully around you.
"They may look like they are merely looking around, but the wealth they are showing off means they can easily afford the necessary mercenaries to conquer my town, or just put a bounty on my head so high that I'll have to deal with assassins every day. I'll be polite to them."
