Since we have almost 100 members, players and GM's, let's talk about mutant powers and how they interact.
Amplification: This reads as if it doubles the usage of a mutation/power. Do you select one mutation (and Amplification is forever bound to that power; but you could roll it again..) or have it apply to all? Sure doubling across the board is powerful, but this is ME. GM approval, as always. Up to them if they want any (one or all) powers boosted in their games anyway.
Amplification as a skill.. In comics/movies, someone like Prof Xavier could teach mutants to use their powers more often, longer duration, etc. For ME, this is attributed to an increase in Rank, sure. But what if players could pick Amplification? Would you allow it in your games?
Maybe there could be a trade off; swap out your next 2 skill points for Amplification on one power. Or trade other mutations, like drop Arid Adaptations to use Beam Eyes 4x/day/Rank instead of the usual 2x/d/R.
This hasn't happened in my games yet, but I wondered if anyone else had to work with it.
(I'm thinking of making Amp. more prevalent in my Gallus gallus beastial chickens.)

AMP. would be a cool new facet to the game mechanics, however in my game it would be a sort of quest granted ability. Most of the mutations in the game are general in the sense that you can meet an npc with the same mutation that you have during the course of your adventures. This being said i would have mutant masters located in the wastes that are similar to grand masters of kung-fu only in their particular mutation. the characters that want to AMP. their mutations would have to seek out these masters and then study with them in order to get their nutation AMPed. this way they can do it for more then one mutations and feel like they have accomplised something in the process. it would encompass adventure and advancement together into one goal. once mastered npc's could even seek out the pc for training as well.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. Amp is a cool and powerful mutation; pg 60 ME. Wait a minute.. It's not even on Ghost/Latent chart pg 59. I'm going to work it in there somewhere. It's specifically describes Latent in the description.

after reading the description im thinking you could even create some type of special mutagen. It could be injected into a mutant to give him or her the Amplification mutation. Of course this would be a much sought after mutagen indeed in the epoch. It could be one of those fantasy quests that every mutant wants to find. The description is pretty vague on amp. it almost begs the GM to make something up for it on the fly or constructively. William is a real genius sometimes. The adventure could begin with the party hearing tales of a strong mutagen that grants mutants extra powers. the party could shake down the locals for gossip on the location of the mutagen then set out for their adventure. once they arrive at the dig site there could be others that sought the mutagen but had adverse effects (some type of HC when mutagen is used.) lurking about the site ready to attack excavators. the mutagen could warp mutants into freakish horrors that then lose their mind in the process becoming animalistic killing machines. of course there is a chance it works and then the character doubles their abilities and can handle these creatures. its just a thought really? OOhh! maybe the company that once made the mutagen could have a really generic name like Pharma corp. or Conglomerated inc.

Yeah man. Maybe it was a cure for mutations. Abhorrent nanotech mutagens are spreading around the globe. This was suppose to reverse the effects. Either through sabotage or design, it did the opposite.
In my game it will be LaPrix Industries. They made the Gallus Gallus chicken plant, thorium reactors, Mars rovers, security bots, the PC's are finding that name everywhere.
