My biggest problem with most games, is the economy, unless i get an idea of what some of the most basic minimum wages are i won't have a very good idea of how it is. So now that one of my PC's has a bounty on his head, is there a sort of table i roll from, or do i just wing it? The bounty in question is from character creation, an Elite Soldier who didn't leave on very good terms. An idea for some of the basic bounties (murder, robbery, maiming, etc.) would be appreciated.

Would love to see this list as well. Chances are, each town will have a slightly different value for various infractions of the law.
Cost for production and time required compared to sale price will also give a good base for manufactured goods. Check out Junk Crafter in TME Core Rules and available trade items pg 94 (I think..)

For my game, I believe we used 100sp +50/starting Caste skill point at Rank 1.
The well educated man servant started with 200sp before skills and our farmer started at 50sp.
You may want to add their starting equipment as it's likely stolen.

I wanted this to be looming over the PC's heads, but not totally out of reach.
After seeing the Slave Value Table in Crossroads pg 386, my estimates were a little high. Just another way to go through the PC's money. They eventually paid all their dues. I did increased the value once their reputation got around.

Here are some typical bounties and hire prices I found in the books.

What I learned is the Holy Purist Empire will pay for anybody you can bring in, but they pay crap. There is no incentive to actually collect this bounty.
Sure, maybe if you live there, things aren't expensive. Generally it's a low tech area with little education, so wages and cost of living are low (if you're a PSH zealot).
But the bounty prices (in the 5-20sp range) are comparable to a beer, whiskey or glass of 'certified clean water' in Pitford. Maybe a good hot meal for the group.
Pitford has multicultural peoples coming together, sharing ideas and forcing the economy and their needs to fight it out. Prices are higher and it's near to countless ruins full of plastics, junk parts and treasure.

For me, this all just enforces the idea that economies are based on location.
Water is expensive in Pitford. Power is cheaper in Array. In my game, Sleeping in the barn at Walsave was free and came with a hot meal..

One of the old TSR Greyhawk maps had symbols of various gems, minerals and trade goods marked on the map. A GM could tell, at a glance, how the market worked (loosely) by what commodities were available in what areas. Maybe we need something like that for the Crossroads region.
Need to start considering those PDF files with different layers.
Geography
Roads
Factions
Trade Goods
Trade routes
Postal routes
Migratory Patterns for Moaners
Slave Trade patterns
Walker Spore Dispersal

If all of these were check boxes as layers on a PDF of the region...! To the vaults!
