Hi All!
This is my first post, but unfortunately I have to start out with a bit of a criticism. After purchasing the TME PDF, I was anxious to join the Members section of the boards, but it was truly a confusing mess. Sending the email and getting confirmation went well, but the process of simply getting my account name and password entered was confusing. What adds to that confusion is the fact that apparently that name and password doesn't get you onto the regular boards. Any help or explanation would be greatly appreciated!
That said, I'm a very happy member of this board and a really excited player/GM of TME. I've been playing various editions of Gamma World forever, and not one of those editions was truly a well put together product. With the stellar quality of many modern RPG's, it's very nice to see my favorite genre finally really handled so well.
Thank you, and I'm glad to meet you all!

Hey Tim and welcome to the forums! It's so nice to have more people involved. I had similar frustrations when I came on board. As I understand it, The entire thing was private. Like me, you bought the book, got a login on the inside cover and after following the link, were sent a personal msg by the author himself. I thought that was pretty cool! This granted you access to one board. Then, you had to register for another separate account as a Society of Excavators (SoE) member.. This is where all the download freebie stuff is and it's good stuff. Next, after much deliberation, the author decided to go public with the forums. Some stuff was moved over to yet another board. This cool shiny mutant forum we enjoy today. So, yeah, I have no idea what my login and password are for this board; it's automatic, thankfully. Also, I have to dig up my login and password (the one everyone gets) for the main (SoE) sight if I want to download something.. With that said, I can overlook it all. Chalk it up to growing pains, because I really believe in the product. It might have been a struggle for you to get here, but I'm glad you made it!

Hear hear! Congratulations you have past thefirst test of initiation! This is not the main site , your main site is in anorher castle. You will have to enter fifteen more user names and oasswords, defeat an angry garnok with a bent spoon and answer the rriddles three from the talking wolf frog on level thirty eight of this forum before gaining full access to the mighty society of excavators! Do you have what it takes new blood?

Thanks to both of you for the welcome. I did indeed past the test, and now guess what?! I'm almost overwhelmed with the sheer amount of gaming goodness downloads available. Since the author is apparently the artist as well, he's worked himself overtime for this game. I've been downloading like mad everything I can find, and I've been creating characters to help learn the system. I've got the basics down, and am still puzzling through a few things, but I swear this game is like a phoenix rising out of the ashes... the Gamma World ashes. I'm hesitant to apply too much GW to this product; after all it has nothing to do with that previous game other than genre, but GW really was (and still is) a world all it's own, with (until now) no competition. Mutant Epoch blows all previous GW editions out of the world, off of the map. I don't generally like percentile systems, but this seems to work without too many problems.
Anyway, I ramble and digress; again, THANK YOU for the welcome, and expect to see me here a lot!

I loved GW, but only know the really old stuff. Ist and maybe 2nd ed. Sadly, this may be all that's left of my original boxed set.
