The Mall of Doom

Coming Spring 2011
The Mall of Doom[/size]
The Mutant Epoch Adventure TME-1
For 6 to 10 1st rank characters
114 Pages This product will be available in Print and PDF
The cover and layout maps and a handful of the large interior illustrations are already done for this one, and we will be working on the art over the next month or two to get it out by late spring. As we complete the inks and graphite art, we will post some of them here and at other sections of the site. The issue with posting art from the adventure is, is that players shouldn't see the art in many cases as it will give away what they may discover when participating in the adventure.

I agree. We plan to make all the books as printed versions, although with the PDF book, wherever it says 'see page 114 or 12' or whatever, you just click it and it takes you there, same with the table of contents, index and mutation and implant generation tables. Also, the encounter tables. doing all the hyperlinks to the PDF took 12 days.
I love the smell of books, too, and then there is the fact that I look at a screen all day as it is an can't read large blocks of text on it.
One thing we are going to be doing with Excavator Monthly magazine, which will run from 24 to 36 pages or so in length each, is after a year or 12 copies have been released, we will be forming the mags into a book. with all the NPCs, creatures, character generation methods, player and GM articles in their own sections, the whole thing given a table of contents and index and converted into a hefty tome for sale as PDF or Print.
Do you recall the old Dungeon Magazine had a best of Dragon issue? Gawd I loved those. Still have a tattered copy around here someplace.
Anyhow, back to the promotions. Setting up a store at the Italian RPG online store called Arima arima.it/giochi/catalog/index.php

Some art for the The Mall of Doom
by WillMcAusland » Sat May 07, 2011 6:53 am
Forum members will be the first to see new art for the game, so here you go.
You can click on the images to enlarge them.
We need to post these images on the blog and gallery page, as well as other places on the web that we use to promote The Mutant Epoch, but here are a few inks fresh off the drawing table.
NOTE April 15 2013: See the Mall of Doom art gallery here: www.outlandarts.com/TME-mall-of-Doom-art.htm
In case any of you end up as players in The Mall of Doom, or try it out the multi-path adventure system as a sort of solo play test on your own, we aren't going to include any art or maps which might give away too much about the adventure.
I’ve been quiet on the forums as I've devoted so much of my time to the art and final edits to this adventure. We are aiming to have the Mall of Doom out by the end of May or early June and it will be available as a PDF first and print version soon after that.
The page count is going to be about 120 or so pages, and while we aren't sure what it will cost as a PDF, it will be very reasonable.
Enjoy!

The Mall of Doom Print copies will be available a week or two after the PDF. The delay is that I need to get a printed proof copy sent up here to the frozen wastes and check it over, and if there are any issues, re-upload the press files and then wait another week or two for a proof and an OK to release the book for sales at Lulu.com.
I agree about wanting a print copy, however, the PDF will be fully linked so hopping about between pages will be easy. All the maps and player hand outs will be available to SOE members, too, so you don't have to cut out the maps and other goodies from your book or need to go find a photocopier.
Let me just add that one of the new relics in this adventure is a pump action 8 gauge shotgun. Makes stuff go away.

Here's an update on The Mall of Doom: The adventure now has all the art, maps and player handouts done and going into the layout tonight. We are half way through the last proof-read and then it is going to preliminary proof edition. These proofs are basically print copies we order and have sent here by courier to check before releasing print edition at lulu.com and amazon.com
(createspace.com). Our RPGnow print editions of the Hub Rules, including a beautiful hardcover version, have been plagued with printer specific issues and are going in for their third round of changes. They need to be as perfect as we can make them because we have some huge reviews coming out shortly, and an advertising campaign, and so expect a burst of attention on the game.
Time for some more art from the adventure? www.outlandarts.com/TME-mall-of-Doom-art.htm
Why not. We'll be posting this elsewhere on the site and web, but SOE members get the first glimpses of this stuff.
Art in the next post...

Just got to check one or two editorial details and then we will be releasing The Mall of Doom this coming week as both a print on demand through Lulu.com and PDF through PRGnow.com
If any of you buy the print book at lulu(or other sites after we get print copies established at them), and you would really enjoy a PDF also, just let me know by PM and I'll send out the PDF to you from RPGnow.com for free, at least for the first 100 people who buy it in print and are SOE members.
Of course, all the player handouts, maps, new creature and new relics will be downloadable in the member's area under downloads by product.

The Mall of Doom Released July 11 2011
by WillMcAusland » Tue Jul 12, 2011 7:02 am
Yes, we have begun the process of placing the Mall of Doom on all the sales venues. Some locations, like amazon.com and getting set up with the print program at RPGnow.com, take weeks on account of the proofing process.
We are very excited to have released The Mall of Doom, even though it was a couple of weeks late. I myself feel much more confident in our ability to release future books every few months, and get Excavator Monthly Magazine out each month on about the 15th, too.
For now, one can get the PDF version for $7.99 at rpgnow.com www.rpgnow.com/product_info.php?products_id=93040 or the print version at lulu.com for $16.99 www.lulu.com/product/paperback/the-mall-of-doom/16233229
Thanks to all of you who have already noticed the book was for sale and bought a copy, It is very encouraging.
Best regards, and keep your heads down out there.
