Do any other GM's put a cap on Traits for normal PSH?
Just because of current World Record Weight Lifting stats, I'm going to say 200.
I'm making it the same across the board, for every Trait, just to keep it easy.
With this in mind, what do you use for a max lift/press STR Trait?
Throughout the book, STR Trait for mutations and cybernetics is for 1 arm/appendage lifting off the ground, in kg.
On the bottom of pg 107, under Meat Shield, 2 arms can lift 2x STR and they can still move. Makes sense to me.
If you spend a few rounds preparing yourself and not under a combat situation, shouldn't this be higher?
I'm going to use a STR + 1/4 WILL for absolute max lift/press. This would give an absolute max of 250 STR just for purposes of one handed, stationary lifting/press. 500 kg is going to be my absolute upper limit for PSH using both arms.
If the lifter has a lifting shirt, belt, wrist wraps/straps, competition weights, bar etc, this might be increased up to 50-60%.
STR + 1/4 WILL is also the Trait for HC, failing the HC will likely lead to strains, ripped muscles/tendons, ie. damage.
200 and therefore 250 also works pretty good for max running speed as well. Again, we assume a perfect track, the right shoes (not steel toed combat boots) and non-combat conditions will add 50% or better. It's been proposed that max human running speed could be around 40 mph/64 kph. www.livescience.com/8039-humans-run-40-mph-theory.html
I think my 200 max Trait works. 250, (Trait + 1/4 another Trait) HC, depending on activity, conditions, etc.
Most of my info is from wiki's. I'm not an expert on these subjects.
A few athletic skills could help.
It could be argued that everyone on the planet has been changed in some way and 200 (250) is a bit high for max Traits, today.. but 2364 is a new era.
Any thoughts?
