Old School Gamma adventures ??
by Blood axe » Sat May 28, 2011 11:36 am
Anyone familiar with Gamma World knows of the adventure " Famine in Fargo ". A really great adventure. How about redoing and updating an old classic like this? Famine in Fargo is my all-time favorite post-apocalyptic adventure. If you haven’t seen it- look it up!
Id really like to see this made for Mutant Epoch. (or something similar)

Famine in Fargo is a great adventure, I've actually been digging through my stack of old P.A. RPG's and modules to see what I can put together for my Mutant Epoch Campaign. Thinking about working in Expedition to the Barrier Peaks at some point.

I've used it for several games over the years, Rifts, Gamma World, Heroes Unlimited and most recently with Mutant Future and it played very well every time. I'm anxious to see how it works for The Mutant Epoch.

Oh yeah, Famine in Fargo. I had a copy of that. Managed to save the cover, which I loved. I see the 4e GW has a new edition with a new cover. Nice stuff.
I liked the mutant on eyed chickens.
Hmmmm, We better add chicken beastial humans to the TME Expansion Book, too!

Brutorz Bill- I played Famine in Fargo with Mutant Future. (modified slightly) If you like Expedition to Barrier Peaks- you might want to ook at DCC #36 Talons of the Horned King from Goodman Games- its very similar.
WillMc- Id like to see a beginning adventure along the lines of Famine in Fargo- young adventurers from a poor village out to prove themselves. Those mutant chickens were pretty cool!

Nice stuff.
Yes, I'd like to tackle a right of passage adventure, maybe even using table TME-1-9 Character Starting Age Category on page 17 of the TME hub rules to have the players each create a pre-teen or teenage PC. That table basically addresses human and mutants, and so creating sub-adult beastial humans would take a bit of tweaking.

My Grandparents had a farm with chickens. They were so cruel to each other, and I'll never forget the day a mouse tried to cross the chicken yard and got picked clean to the bone. Also, the pecking order is brutal, so it might be fun to somehow incorporate where a beastial human chicken stood in his or her old flock, maybe being the lowest one in the order she had to flee her kind out of self preservation.
Anyhow, a six foot half chicken, especially a rooster, would be viscous and not so easy to turn into Sunday dinner. Maybe they could jump up once every third round and attack with both feet or their spurs and make a raking, flesh tripping attack?
Looking forward to seeing your creations. Although, for publication and legal reasons, we'll have to sadly call them something other than their GW name.

Mutant Chicken & Beastial Chicken should be enough.
