hello,
I just bought the game last week and i love it. Sadly, i am a "tinkerer". i was inspired by the hazard check table and came up with a way to use it for all my critical hit need.
1st, the chance for a critical hit is 10% of your current strike value against that specific target.
2nd, on a critical hit damage is maxed and for every full 5 points of damage crit factor a crit letter is generated (5=A, 10=B etc.). The damage is applied as normal. if the target still has more than 0 end apply the critical.
A and B crits that are failed stun/ incapacitate the target (rounds for A crit, hours for B crit.) crits of C and above failure results in death.
well, that's the basic idea i have.
i look forward to playing this game and watching it grow.

Madwill, that's a pretty cool idea to tie crits to the hazard checks table. One of the beautiful things about using a percentile system is that it can be tinkered with so well, and yet every number shows the odds of a hit, failure, success or other event in terms we all use every day; percentages.
Glad to have you in the SOE area and look forward to more of your house rules! I'll gather a few more from various areas of the forum and other source sand update the house rules link in the member's area of the site.
