Howdy, I'm looking to finally play The Mutant Epoch with my dad. By Duet, I mean just with one player and one GM. I hope someone can answer this question. I really hope there is some way I can play TME with my dad. Anyways have a nice day.

I've done several duet style games and it works very well. I've also run it without a GM, using the random generator in the TME Rulebook as a way to generate all the movement and encounters as a survival style game which has worked great for my brother and I.

Absolutely it's possible. Heck, a single player game is a GM's dream job, because you can focus on just one character and not have to worry about making every body happy all the time!
And if you're looking for players, I'd be up for a skype (or whatever is common these days) game!

Can you still play an Excavator game with only one player?

I would recommend having multiple backup characters, and having the one player running a group of characters at first. Don't use too many 'active' powers/mutations, and accept that you are going to have to change the characters out as they get damaged/killed. You might think of the player as being the HR of a monster-hunting business, hiring and firing people as needed and finances allow. So if you have a campaign focused around one character, it might be useless as the player decides that character has taken too much damage and will take too long to heal to go back out into combat.
