Hello there, i just joined the ME community and i wanted to ask a few questions game-wise.
What would the price range be for a normal house, if a player character wanted to purchase one in a settlement? What about a workshop to practice his Tech skill(s) in? And if a player with high Tech skills did a project for a settlement, how much would he be paid?

A farmhouse in an exposed settlement is 400+2d1000sp...500x500m of productive but exposed farmland is 300+2d100 (TME-1). I imagine this is a cheap price due to being exposed to immanent attack by raiders and humanoids.
Reprogramming a robot is 300+d1000sp...android is 400+d1000sp. Repairing a computer: 400+d1000sp. Repairing a robot: 5sp/endurance point repaired.
Fixing a non-functioning weapon costs 10-100% of base value, depending on condition ('great shape' to 'extremely damaged and missing parts').
Reloading a rifle round is 30sp...pistol:25sp, shotgun slug/shell:40/27sp, .50cal:100sp, .22LR:12sp, high-cal rifle round:42sp.

Ha, yea. I'm just quoting the TME sourcebooks. But, silver is not used as money today so it's value is relatively small. The current dollar value of silver (and gold) is largely based on its industrial value, modified up or down by speculation or fears about the future. It can go much higher when someone tries to corner the silver market (Hunt Brothers) or during crises like the 2008 housing market bust.
Most folks agree that in any apocalyptic scenario where the existing monetary and banking systems collapse, commodities will again be used as money. Especially precious metals and anything else with a high value to weight ratio, divisible and easily transportable (bullets, cigarettes, twinkies?). So the exchange value of an ounce of silver would skyrocket, maybe 10 or 20 times, maybe more. Gold as well.
