Hilarious picture, but very accurate.
The chickens we had would eat grass, grain, weeds, mice, other chickens, their own eggs if they broke as well as the most disgusting table scraps and vegetable peelings. In some ways, this true omnivorous diet would be a great survival trait in the The Mutant Epoch. At our table, when I GM, I'll allow beastial human chicken characters this omnivorous trait. When other characters are starving, this guy could pick at passing brush, eat carrion and snap bugs from out of the air. Of course, if the rest of the team is starving, they might eye this robust chicken-boy in a different light, and start thinking KFC.

Yes, but a female Beastial Chicken could lay EGGS!! Awesome while adventuring! The Chicken character can take last watch near morning and then cook her own eggs for breakfast for the rest of the party.
If he dies in battle, the group will want to recover the body! Finger-licking-good!

I wrestled with the feign death thing quite a bit. First I was going to make it a hazard check against willpower to not play dead, but from what I've read it's an involuntary reaction to harm or fear. I decided on a the small percentage chance of it happening. I did not want to make it too high because nobody wants to carry around the stinky opossum PC till he wakes up. Not to mention sitting in the ruins for up to 4 hours with a stinking passed out opossum PC with potential predators sniffing about. This assumes the party can figure out he's not dead..."Well he's dead. Take his equipment and we should get going before the smell attracts something hungry."

Looking forward to seeing what you work up!
Re: Beastial Human Zebra
by Blood axe » Sat Apr 23, 2011 11:10 pm
One thing that needs to be brought up in an expansion on Beastial characters is their size & weight.
Why be a Mouse when you can be a Horse?! The Horse has great strength & endurance bonuses. But look at the size/weight! I have a conversion app on my cell.
Average Horse is 330 kg and 340 cm.
That’s 727 pounds and over 11 feet tall!!
That mutant Horse would NOT fit into most normal size buildings and would probably collapse a lot of floors.
The mutant Mouse is 30 kg and 50 cm.
That is 66 pounds and about 20 inches tall. He could fit in small windows and maybe even vents/heating ducts!

Cool! I’m working on some of the other animals on my list. I’m just not good with metrics- I’m American. Also not sure on how lifespan is figured- not that you die of old age in Mutant Epoch anyway.

Hey Blood Axe I'm American also, still clinging to the English system!
I'm also not sure how lifespan is figured. I was just gonna base mine on some of the other animal types.
Looking forward to seeing what you work up!

Yikes that is a big difference in the sizes and weights... definitely something to consider.
