State of the Game, Traipsing the Dominion!

That is a heck of a team!
( They just need an A Team van. )
I'm going to use them as some tough opposition for the PC's.

I'd love to hear more about 'em.

*ahem*

It all started in Redfield (to skip the rather uninteresting beginning when my first two players were still getting used to the game and their characters). Our small team of four Hark, Aulin, and (now deceased) Ternal and Crystal (Player turnover is a hell of a thing). First thing's first as the barge trader had suggested they should go into town and immediately get their papers certified. So they head into town and go to a tiny shed of a customs office, to find it overflowing with people. Not wanting to overload on fun, they sent Aulin, the only reader of the group, in to squeeze past and grab some documents to fill out. After doing so they filled them out with basic info, name race, gender, age, reason for being in the Dominion. Ternal, being a ghostie was brought to a separate, somehow smaller shed and mind probed by a Dominion Shadow Minion. Being asked supplementary questions, was given the proper papers and a black band. The papers were excavator passes, labelling the synthetic and pure stock as "Support Staff" and the two mutants as "Expedition Leaders".

They decided to sleep for the night and get straight to excavating, heading out at dawn towards a patch of woods to the north of Red Field. They travelled rather uneventfully until they reached the woods, and passed by a small lake. Where only Hark managed to see a pair of beady little bug eyes sticking out of the mud looking around. Hark called out, hoping it was a mutant fisherman, and was only slightly dismayed to see a Mud Grabber had been sitting there in hopes of catching an easy meal. So instead it decided to go after the nearest prey. Hark went first firing, and missing the first shot of the game. Aulin, instead of wasting ammo for his .22 pistol decided to call up his Energy Blade and prepare for the attack, (and this is when i lost a player due to a debilitating case of silliness). Ternal and Crystal both fired their crossbows. The thing scuttled towards them, being hailed by crossbow fire  until it came right up to them, Aulin swiped his energy blade and took a big enough chunk of health away from the near dead thing and it decided to get the hell out of there. Heading straight for the pond, the group decided to finish it, piercing the carapace in one last barrage and spilling the thing's delicious prawn meat onto the ground. Cleaning up the mess, the group decided to check if the water is alright by geniusly having the two PC's without a player wade into the water. Sadly the water was not ok, having been ripped apart by three Galporra Fish at the same time. They decided against it, and went towards a logging camp to the north, the two excavators investigated it, hoping to get clues on some possible location to excavate from the friendly locals.

Walking towards the small temporary logging camp they noticed something only slightly odd, it was completely empty. Not even a sign of activity. Hark and Aulin decided to try and sneak up to the logging camp, sadly Aulin, the only one trained in stealth, was wearing some rattly old junk armor and was not fit to sneak, after failing multiple times to sneak they hear some inhuman hissing inside one of the huts nearest them (with the door and any windows on the other side) Believing they were still in the clear, Hark advanced, only to be greeted by 7 Reptilius, all with mutated bone plates on their bodies. Though weaponless, they proved tough as aulin attempted to hold them off as Hark tried to sneak around looking for survivors. After a few minutes of searching, and Aulin getting the shit beat out of him, Hark finally decided that piles of entrails and blood stains meant that there weren't any survivors to be rescued, and attempted to sneak crossbow one of the Reptili. It failed miserably, and served only to alert them. So half the lizardmen broke off to assault Hark. While he fiddled with his crossbow and sword, Aulin was doing fairly average, swiping at them with his energy sword, Though one of the Lizardmen gets him by the next, mauling him fairly badly, hark breaks off from the other reptili he was fighting (read, ran while they poked him in the ass with sharp sticks) to assist Aulin. Having already regained his balance though, Aulin decapitated the mauling Reptili and continued hacking his way through them. After finishing the bastards off, the two of them decide to rest in the (relative) safety of the camp.

Naturally when giving a safe place to rest I rolled a small insect to assault them in the night, as they slept, Hark on guard duty saw small insects flitting about in the dim light of the fire. Passing them off as just another wasteland annoyance he only realized the danger when one of them had the light of the fire reflect off their wings, showing the familiar pattern of Doom Moths. He decided to wake Aulin up, and try to slap one around with his spear (phrasing), After slicing one in half, Aulin gets up, realizing there are god damn bugs trying to eat his brains, he loses it and breaths fire all over their camp/ Setting the entire thing on fire, and also, missing the moths entirely. After slicing another one in half, he tries that again, this time catching the remainder of them in a blaze, and neatly setting the rest of the camp on fire. Thus ended their restful night.
