Was wondering if anyone plays with miniatures and if so what square distance are you using? Every square a meter? 3 meters?
Also how do you deal with non whole numbers such as a MV of 5.25m?

Hey, man. We usually go with 1m = 1 inch square. (5 feet/square for fantasy rpgs.) We also use a sort of "zoom in". The only real/precise measurements are needed in combat; mostly melee. If Someone is far ahead or moving faster than the rest, we only have to show what is happening at that moment. This prevents someone being 30+ squares behind the rest of the party or having a character walk off the table. Player: "If I can hear their combat, I'm running up to help my buddy. Then I'll try out this new razor sword!" GM: "You'll get there in 5 rnds. Unless you change action, we'll place your mini 2 rnds out."

We use a glass top on a vinyl grid. Dry erase markers let us map, take notes and change things on the fly. Partial/fractional moves haven't been an issue, yet. It only seems to matter for us when dealing with long distances. Then all those .25m add up.

Thanks man good to know. I normally play without miniatures but I'm always curious about other people's ways of playing.

Savage GM, If you do want to get minitures for your games then i highly recommend you try this website www.lead-adventure.com/ . they have a pretty extensive post apoc selection. I have bought most of my epoch mini's from them and they have come out great after painting. there prices are pretty reasonable too.

Hey Rex, Thanks for the link! Great minis on there. Love the dog with the gas mask! I actually use paper minis for pretty much every game I play. I use this free mini maker ( rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/85950/Silvervine-Games-Paper-Mini-Maker?filters=0_2270_0_0_0 ) and put them on paper binder clips to stand them up for more stability. I can pick out any picture online that I like and make it into a mini. Page after page full of different or the same mini for lots of mobs. It gets the job done, is super cheap and you can have a paper mini be the same art as on a character sheet. Also they are so easy to transport!
