Where can I find the Flesh Weavers adventure mentioned in Pitford's Quest Path Apartments, pg 60? I've seen art from the book and I'd guess it's in the Download section of the main website, but I don't see it. Maybe it's not quite finished and the staff are focusing on Crossroads.. I'm patiently hopeful.

I saw that mentioned as well and was also wondering when it was coming out? Im with you that it will probably come out later on once the crossroads gazetter is released. I cant wait for the crossroads book to come out.

The Flesh Weavers is indeed coming out sometime after The Crossroads Region and Mutant Bestiary One. Of course, people seem extremely eager to get Plantoids in their hands, and one of the writers and I are working on that as well as a new equipment book. Gonna be an extremely busy Fall and Winter. This Crossroads book has formed a huge blockage in the flow of new releases. Its gonna be worth it, but I have been working on it for a full year (not including a year to write it back before we released the hub rules) and am eager to move onto the Bestiary and other books, including The Flesh Weavers.
Just a note on Weavers,at this time it looks like a shorter adventure of about 88 pages and for characters of 2 to 4th rank, taking place in Pitford during a terrible, persistent junk storm. Characters are kinda locked down and the community is under siege by an enraged Mother Nature... until 'they' come.

Progress report on The Flesh Weavers / Feb 11 1015
Adventure TME-3 The Flesh Weavers is our primary focus right now as far as the RPG end goes. I've just sent the layout to the printer and sometime today will get back the art ready layout. From there, all the art boxes are traced and then pencil work can begin on the illustrations and maps. On this one, I'd like to get the cover done well in advance of the interior inks so I can commence promoting it.
Its a creepy adventure, let me tell you. I wrote the first draft around Halloween a few years back and had a great time play testing it. Not for gamer with weak stomachs, but by the title, I gather you guessed that!
Once I am a few images in, I will let you know the projected releases date. Right now it is a slightly shorter adventure than Mall of Doom or Beyond Red Crater at about 100 pages including 8 pre-gen characters, maps, player handouts and assorted appendices.
Stay tuned....
Will

Hi Troops,
Just a quick update on The Flesh Weavers. The layout and edits are all in and I am just working on the art. I spend about a half of each day doing the pencil work, and the rest dealing with mail order bundles, promotions, play testing, and work on other TME books. I'd like to be able to draw all day, but my hand hurts after four or five hours of drawing and inking. Also, when I do a bit of each task every day, I come to the different aspects fresh, yet maintain my skill.
Problem with showing art for the Flesh Weavers adventure is that some of the scenes will give away game events to the players, so I can't show it online as I did with the mutant bestiary. Dang. I will find some, however and post it both on twitter and here.
Stay tuned, Will

Writing about slavery, even in a fictional post-apocalyptic world, has been a struggle. What a dark aspect to our species. My research shows that there are more slaves on earth now than ever, that doesn't include people who are merely in debt and have no choice but to work at a job they hate, but people who can't leave their job site even when not working and are exposed to violence.
Been watching the Spartacus series on Netflix. The Romans were amazing, but incredibly cruel. I've read that 1 in 4 people in Rome were slaves. Can that be right?
Back to the pencils. WM

Actually the numbers were probably closer to 1 in 3. Each roman household (except for the low classed ones) had at least 2 slaves per resident. Kitchen staff were almost all either indentured servants or out-right slaves, almost all cleaning & porters were slaves. Most entertainers were slaves (& 99% of all prostitutes & bath attendants were owned by the brothel & bathhouse owners). The Roman empire was the height of human decadence & jaded apathy. ONLY Romans were cultured, all other societies were "barbarians" & "savages" who the "Enlightened Romans" had to enslave & civilize.
Seems society & the idea of "Culture" hasn't changed all that much. Now instead of enslaving them, other "cultured" societies "liberate" them from any cultural norm that doesn't agree with their own, albeit some of these so called "other cultural norms" are ones of oppression, slaughter, & religious intolerance (& thus worthy of overthrow). Others, however, are just disguised ethnic/religious bigotry under the banner of "liberation from under the (insert scapgoat regime here)'s boots.

oh & the Persian Empire was as bad if not worse then the Romans. Most of their servant class, be they Persian or another cultural heritage, were considered slaves of the House Patriarch for whom they labored. Large swathes of the Persian armies were slave warriors. Society is ripe with examples of mans inhumanity to man. The past societies were simply more open about slavery. Now it has moved into the shadows, hidden under the veneer of "service Contracts", Indentured Worker status, & unspoken violence against the slave themselves or their families. Mankind's impulses for perversity, violence, & apathy no longer even surprise me. Our species is capable of literally any foul & unspeakable act if only given the right climate of apathy, self-interest, & "willful Ignorance". Only the small minority of our kind strive for loftier ideals, too bad that minority is a dying breed in these dark times. "Whats in it for me?" has become the mantra of many business models & personal codes of conduct. Religions even have this mentality many times.
Sad to say, I doubt you could portray even a fraction of the truth in any game-aid you could produce on the subject. I do look forward to seeing how you balance it for in-game use. Truthfully a framework is needed to portray at least a little of the vileness that slavery represents if it is to have a place (even if it is a reviled one) in the game.
