So i made this thread so we have a place to rally and show our support and intrest in the upcoming manuscript from william mcausland. Please feel free to voice your anticipation here as well. Also it might be fun to speculate on whats going to be revealed.

Im hoping that the aberratia and pure stock empire wars are discussed in more detail. What are some of the historical battles between the two mega powers of the region? Do the freehold states help either side when the war becomes unbalanced? What about the elusive mecha robot wars ? What leads the robots on and fixes the damaged casualties of that war? What about the andriods war against the mecha? So many questions await to be answered. This is just the beginning too, WM has hinted that there is more then just one region . What will these regions be like? It makes me wonder, what happened to the rest of the world? Will we be able to have adventures in 2364 epoch europe? Or what about epoch chiina and japan?

Theres so much to think about in this game . Thats what makes it so fun to play. Is there anyplace in the world that didnt get nuked in the apocalypse? What about Australia or tasmania? Did the epoch accelerate global warming and if so did the global temperature rise high enough to melt Antarctica? Could a pristine virtually untouched antarctic wilderness just be waiting out there to be exploited by some brave excavators?

What about mermen? Could there be half human half fish in the sea that could be befriended? If so imagine the relic treasure troves they could share with the world lost under the see.

The purist empire has an air corps of zepplins apparently. What about the abberatians? Or the mecha, android and freehold forces in the region? Do the mecha have relic jets ?what do the regional powers have for navy's? Do any of the powers have naval ships capable of pan ocean voyages or are they strictly limited to going up and down rivers an coastlines?

I've been trying not to think about it. As soon as I start I won't get anything else done for days. Looking through the creatures in the book, something jumped out at me from day 1. Who is implanting all of these cybernetics? Every other creature, it seems has a weapon or cyber implant of some kind. There must be some kind of Angel of the Wastes taking care of her brood. Modifying creatures with weapons as whatever strikes her fancy. Maybe it's an AI; "I Have No Mouth But I Must Scream" kind of insane AI that is still tending it's flock, performing experiments and setting them loose in the wilds. Thinking about Zepplins makes me think of the Aberationist versions. Something like Starcraft's floating bag/cargo haulers, probably. They could be alive and sentient with weapons to boot! If anyone has access to the 2300AD rpg, check out the bio-engineered Penta-pod products. Scuba diving masks that look/work like the Alien face-hugger. Spaceships grown like gourds.. And what's up with Array? A huge solar power station of some kind. That place must have awesome security. Is it concentrated solar? Maybe there are a few satellites all focusing the sun in one spot. If someone could aim them a bit, you'd have a hell of a weapon. I've thought that each faction could have a major game changer up their sleeves. No one wants to use it first; kind of a cold war. The Aberationists might have a stable emp mazer satellite. (Similar in effect to the tv show Revolution.)They could deny electrical activity across a few kilometers. As soon as they use it, the Mecha will find a way to shoot it down. By then the damage will be done and the deviants will move in troops and control the target area. As for the Mecha, it's hinted in the book that some special robots might have real flesh and blood covering their bodies. If they could slip past the bio-scans, that would be scary. Maybe bestial humans can tell by smell. What if the Mecha are making robot Aberationists? Why should the terminators look like Pure Stock Humans?

Where are all the skullocks and everything else coming from. Obviously there isn't enough room for all of these factions to be living, naturally. They must have huge bases, ant hills and swarming grounds.

Instead of teraforming worlds, it would be a lot easier and faster to gene-mod people. I'm definitely going to have some kind of aquaculture faction.

That's the kind of raw natural beauty that would be nuked first in a pissing contest over resources. Sad, but likely.

I would like to see more mecha. Heavy duty ED-209 plus-sized robots. Edit: OK, after some research, ED-209 has 2 20mm machine guns on his left arm weapon pod and 1 20mm machine gun on his right pod with a pop-out missile launcher. There are 3 heat-seeking missiles stowed here. I guess it's retractable to reduce the chance of setting them off prematurely. Although it wasn't portrayed in the movie, the model also was scripted with a mortar launcher behind the "head". It had HE and gas rounds. Bullet proof titanium and the ability to roll over/recover from being knocked down; pretty good Intelligence, for the most part. Weaknesses: Looks like it would overheat, stairs are a problem and it can be hacked by little girls.

Hi wastelanders, So, The Crossroads Gazetteer clearly took longer than we thought by a few months, but I think it will be well worth he wait. I am happy to report that the cover is more or less done and this is the first look at the 412 to 430 page book's cover art. There are 309 interior ink drawings, all done finally after illustrating for 9 months straight. The inks are all scanned and being inserted into the layout today. We still have to finalize the regional map's text and create 33 community maps, so are a few weeks away from release yet. We were aiming for August 30th, but I'd feel safer saying September 15th. Still, it's coming fast and I am working 10-14 hours a day on this. Part of the delay is that there is going to be a ton of free downloads, of all the maps and the dozen or so NPCs. All the downloadable content will also be in the book's appendices for those who aren't SOE members and buy the book to play using a different RPG system, as this book could serve as a generic setting if one wanted. This is the biggest book we have ever done, or will ever do. Other regional settings will be in the hundred page range, while the next books will all be under 200 pages and we aim to release things much sooner from now on. Next Mutant Beastiary One, followed by Plantoids. Thanks for your patience! Now to the cover art...
